They are way too cheap now I would even say, so just buy anything from ASUS. I have ASUS ML249H with MVA (not IPS, but not TN) matrix and it's a way to go really. Yes, under your budget you can probably buy now best of 24". Mine dated June 2011.

Unfortunately, I don't think that you can find a good monitor with a price $200-300.
Personally I use Dell UltraSharp U2715H 27" . Realy great purchase for $400. A lot of professional photographers and web designers recommend it.
Anyway, read some authority reviews to make a right decision:

I'm using dual LG IPS LED monitors and they work great for me.

Recently bought a U2412M and its not great for gaming, its average at best. Lost of ghosting when things move quick, like on GTA 5.
Currently looking at the Asus VG248QE considered on of the best gaming monitors http://www.esportsource.net/best-gam...gaming-monitor

You know what they say. The more monitors you have the more profitable you are :-)

Well, for gaming monitors I sure as hell recommend the Acer Predator XB271HU. I have brought it and I think it's the best gaming monitor out there right now. http://www.144hzmonitors.com/gaming-...uide-may-2016/

Hi, thanks for your input. I've since bought a dell u2414h monitor first, it was ips & yes the colours and image were great but the ips glow in dark images was a real annoyance for me, I just couldn't get used to it so I sent it back and got a benq BenQ EW2750ZL LED 27" VA panel instead. it's not perfect, there is a little ghosting in fast moving gaming but blacks are black.

Any good models out there? i hear IPS technology is the way to go even though its more expensive.
i budgeting $200-$300
any suggestions?
And yes you are right. IPS panels makes a better colored and visual screen for near perfect images. Due to their very good color reproduction abilities.
Both of the models I mentioned above are also within your 200 to $300 budget.

I can recomend Eizo FS2434-BK. Perfect for charts & casual gaming. You can connect 2 or 3 because of 2mm frame. Not too expensive.

if you care about gaming and play FPS games then i cannot write in words how much more fluid it is playing on a dedicated gaming monitor like
http://uk.pcmag.com/asus-vg248qe/479...w/asus-vg248qe
personaly have and use asus monitors and rate them well, i finally got fed up playing my custom gaming rig on big tv's, even with fast pixel refresh rate i still find myself wanting to site right infront of the whole 42", im lived half my awake life glued 15" from a screen, thus what got me back on a desk with a 24" gaming monitor, you could spend alot more, but i dont see the need,
ill find you a USA link,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236313
and i wouldn't just take someones word, have a look around, but first classify if you really need a gaming monitor or notyou could save some pennies!
here is a good resource for info
http://www.144hzmonitors.com/gaming-...e-august-2015/
i haven't looked into IPS much, so cannot comment there
