Hans Bowles any input regarding lot sizes for us who use higher risk? My account is now 52% smaller than before, should I adjust lot sizes to current balance?

The rule Hans did and respected are just a little part of the trading activity. As many people noticed a problem was the fact that he opened too many trades in a short time and in a low volume period. This is not regulated and probably cannot be. But where I contest him the most is that when you have so many contract opened you cannot let the basket go up and down, he has to close or reduce it asap...and he had his chances!!!

In those 2 last months I've been repeatedly offended nevertheless I was right and polite every single time until Nick just yesterday asked me not to write anymore as I was creating a fuss. Me?!? Not nice of you Nick, and even nastier as I was one more right on the % matter as you aknowledged by changing the instruction in the risk management section.

hopefully this will be a good lesson for signal provider, followers and management.

And now let's start a safe and slow slope through the recovery.

        Hans Bowles:

        1. You acted too late and too little. You have to admit this. Forget the Feb 2016, this is nothing new to you as the same events happened in past 2-3 months. You should have the precautious in mind.

        2. When you think of the 7.5% drawdown, please think of the over 1million USD sitting on IC Markets 4x MAM. That's equivalent to 30% drawdown. It hurts many, and Nick's business income too!

        3. Are you aware of the main economic events including the FOMC Statement last night and the thin liquidity on the holiday trading season? Well, you need not answer me on this.

So much for a happy new year...

I know this stings... closed losses always do. I suppose that's why some of you are yearning for the days of FX Viper where he'd hold trades forever, but it's actually not how we're going to make money long term.

How many times have you seen a strategy perform brilliantly for ages, only to have one mistake completely blow the account?

This is the difference between an amateur and a professional, a professional admits when they're wrong, cuts the positions and resets.

Hans totally screwed up this basket, he went in too hard in low liquidity and got stung. He's not perfect, however he remains one of the best traders out there and the closure of this basket is evidence in that.

We've seen both SteadyCapture and Goldstar do this over the past couple of years, and each time they've recovered the loss within months to breach new equity highs.

This current 8% loss, or (29% on the IC Markets MAM) is absolutely recoverable, but if we'd traded it any deeper then the situation could have become dire.

On a personal note Hans feels terrible about it, here's one of his Skype messages to me just now:

I feel very sad now... not for myself... but for my clients and you guys as well...

But I will keep doing my best guys as I've pretty much always done, first goal is to keep calm and get back to high watermark in whatever time it takes.

Also being less aggressive means that I will focus strictly on news instead of having baskets open to long resulting in unannounced political news moving the market. NFP, FOMC, ISM, etc is all good, focus on those.

Think you should leave the size as before but you could go with a smaller size but that would mean recovery would be above the high watermark. Obviously, there is always a risk we could hit another bump and you could lose more of your account. Really hope trades conservatively, quick trades and take profit.

Also, this is the first time we have consecutive 3 months losses. Is the strategy working for current market?

...and its sad but true.. over the last few years here, I only made money with viper...

I try to understand every side of the coin and I'm really feeling cheated.

I was for almost a year with Jeff (FX Viper) with his signal and everyone complained about his basket that in the end he knew how to close it and keep at least small profits in our accounts.

Now I've only been a month with this signal and I've only seen big baskets and big losses on my account. Especially wish they were more conservative in setting up accounts, how it is possible for a single night account to lose 30% - 50% of its capital.

It may not be much for you but for some people it is our savings, that preferably if someone is going to play this way with them I would go to a casino to bet everything to black in roulette and I would feel better. And now they offer to recover the loss in a couple of months, when they were not only affected by an 8% DD that may happen again.

I feel that a great responsibility has fallen on Hans assuming the great portfolio of ForexSignals and that altered his Methodology of work, it is no coincidence that those who come from FX Viper will be the most affected.

I really have decided to stop trusting my money in Hans and especially in ForexSignal. I supported him (Nick) with the departure of Jeff but now I am understanding his position and I will for his services again.

Thank you all. I wish you excellent returns for this 2017 and can recover from this fall.

                  Kind Regards,

I'll wait for Hans to reply, don't want to be too exposed in case we go again into DD on the other hand if I reduce lot size recovery can take years...

Yep. Same here. Lost 30% due to 4x FORCED leverage (which wasn't disclosed to me and there was no choice given to reduce the risk factor )

Losses happen. Hans, keep your chin up and come back with focus when you are ready. One tip: the news and markets are going to be very volatile this year I think because of President Trump. Just a guess of course, but seems like a lot of things can happen to move the markets unexpectedly this year. So please be careful with my remaining funds!

And we were all told that the risk is half and therefore 4X mam is actually 2X, but the truth is the risk is really a 4X. I sign up for a 2X risk at icm not asking for any higher.
