MT5 has been around for as long as I've been in the industry, but nobody uses it for this exact reason.
Imagine if Microsoft all of a sudden released a version of Windows that none of your old programs worked on... would you use it?
Hells no.

OK, I was however interested because that MT5 is supposed to have a better RAM management and many better features - not only according to Metaquotes who obviously promote it, but also from for instance a guy called "Birt" who reviewed it as far as I can recall and found many benefits with it compared to MT4. I also read another review, unbiased, from another person who deals a lot with Forex and especially coding algorithms, machine learning and so on who found it to be quite an improvement over MT4. He stated also that the coding language in MT5 is much closer to C++ and hence a lot easier to learn from scratch compared to MQL4 (language in MT4) ...
Is there any chance for an MT5 version any time soon ?Last edited by Hansen; 06-01-2017, 06:29 AM.

If there's demand then we'll definitely build an MT5 copier, but in all our years offering the software, you're one of the first people to ever ask.

I use MT5 only because of the full spectrum of Timeframes, ,and that is the only thing i like, things i do not like is the data folder builds up, to 2.5 Gb for 10 currencies with all timeframes activated , that slow MT5 down, when the market move fast during news events, the price line move with the price but the forming of the candles lags behind , as i said i use it only for analysist but follow trades on MT4.. And there is very little custom indicators available. As far as i know ther is only one feed of data per currency and MT5 builds candles for each timeframe from

Thanks for sharing your opinion, Sterling. Maybe after all it is better to just stay with MT4, as metaquotes also keep updating that one. Even though they have not openly admitted to listen to the voice of all who want to stay with MT4 is still says something
